Background: The consumption of ferns as vegetables and pickles in Nepal is a noteworthy phenomenon. Diplazium esculentum stands out one the most commonly consumed ferns. Being rich plant resources, eastern remains relatively unexplored compared to central Nepal. Therefore, present study seeks provide brief account edible uses Blechnum orientale, fern species, from Methods: Multiple field visits were conducted Pathari Municipality Kanepokhari Rural Morang district. habitats where B. orientale was collected by local vendors examined, ethnobotanical uses, photographs, market prices recorded. Results: From April May, young fronds community forests Tamang, Limbu, Magar tribes an area. Young washed, boiled soften them, used prepare vegetables. Pickles are also made mixing with potatoes, green chili, onions, salt, mustard oil, flax seed powder. Local sell bundles along Mahendra Highway price 50 100 Nrs per bundle. Conclusion: vital vegetable source for communities during monsoon season, providing sustenance income generation opportunities. Sustainable collection commercialization recommended.
